Pranav Shagotra appointed as J&K's Youth Congress president

Pranav Shagotra was today appointed as the new president of Jammu and Kashmir's Youth Congress unit.
All Indian Youth Congress' president and MLA Amarinder Singh Brar appointed Shagotra as the new president of Pardesh Youth Congress (PYC) in an organisational revamp as part of its efforts to rejuvenate the Youth Congress in Jammu and Kashmir, a spokesman said.
"This is an unprecedented pronouncement to strengthen the Youth Congress," he said.
Shagotra started his political career as NSUI district general secretary in 2003. He was appointed as the state general secretary of Pardesh Youth Congress in 2011. He contested elections of PYC in 2012 and became the vice president of the state Youth Congress.
The appointment of Shagotra is an attempt to strengthen the organisation and to bring the fresh blood in mainstream politics, the spokesperson said.
Pranav expressed gratitude to AICC president Sonia Gandhi and AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi, AICC general secretary Ambika Soni, AICC secretary Suraj Hedge, JKPCC president Ghulam Ahmed Mir and IYC secretary Dr Umma Shankar Pandey.
Youth Congress activists from all over the state welcomed Shagotra's appointment. Mir, JKPCC vice-president Sham Lal Sharma and senior Congress leader Dr Rashid Choudhary also congratulated him.
