The two sides entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for enhancing the mutual bonds of friendship and increasing co-operation in the field of broadcasting between the two countries.
The MoU was signed by Prasar Bharati CEO Jawhar Sircar and Ambassador of Qatar Ahmed Ibrahim Abdulla Al Abdulla in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi amd Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani.
The highlights of the MoU are strengthening the co-operative relationship in the field of Radio and TV, exchange of content that highlights the national characteristics, cultural heritage, social events, festivals and competitions of both the countries, an official statement said.
Exchange programmes for journalists, experts, technicians, etc in the field of radio and TV, exploring opportunities for co-production, encouraging cooperation and coordination in efforts and attitudes in the regional and international forums, are some of the other highlights of the MoU signed today, it said.
Prasar Bharati, with this MoU, hopes to enrich the content of the programmes being aired by All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan, it said.
