recovered from Rasulpur Bazar in Bihar's Saran district and a man has been arrested in this connection, a police officer said.
Acting on a tip off, the police raided a jeweller Tarkeshwar Soni's house and recovered the idol, made of Ashtadhatu (mixed metals) and weighing 18 kg, Rasulpur police station's Officer In-Charge (OIC) Surendra Paswan said.
Ram Pravesh Yadav, native of neighbouring Siwan district, has been arrested on charge of fixing a deal with the jeweller to buy the idol that police suspect to be a stolen one.
The value of the idol was estimated to be Rs 35 lakh, a price that Yadav had agreed to fork out for it, the police officer said.
