"Azim Premji, Wipro Chairman, met me and requested the government to expedite departmental clearances, including environment, forest and BDA (Bangalore Development Authority) at the earliest to set up SEZ at Kodathi on the outskirts of the city," Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah told reporters.
Replying to a query, Siddaramaiah said Premji did not talk about the investment to be made in the project but said the SEZ would create 25,000 jobs in the first phase.
The state government had recently approved this SEZ project on the outskirts of Bangalore.
