A new government would be formed after holding local elections tentatively in March, said Deuba talking to reporters in Chitawan, a central Nepal town.
There was a tacit understanding between Deuba and Prime Minister Prachanda some six months ago to share the remaining 18 months of Parliament tenure turn by turn while forming the coalition government led by Prachanda with the backing of Nepali Congress.
The Constitution amendment bill would be endorsed only after passing election-related bills, Deuba said adding that the local polls dates would be announced soon after passing the bills.
Otherwise, it would push the democratic system into a crisis, he warned.
Deuba said that the Constitution amendment proposal was forwarded with a view to addressing the demands of the Madhesi people.
