President Ram Nath Kovind accompanied by his wife arrived here on six-day visit of Himachal Pradesh.
Kovind was received by Governor Acharya Devvrat, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, state minister Mohinder Singh Thakur and officials at Kalyani helipad at Chharaabra, 14-km from here.
He was accorded a Guard of Honour by a contingent of the Indian Army and then was straight away driven to Retreat, the president's summer holiday resort, along with his wife, Savita Kovind, accompanied by the CM and the minister.
The security forces were deployed in strength and the area was made out of bounds for the general public.
The duration of the president's visit was five days earlier and now he would leave on May 25 instead of May 24, officials said.
