President condoles Iyer's death

President Pranab Mukherjee today paid rich tributes to Justice V R Krishna Iyer describing him as a "judicial statesman" and said the eminent jurist will remain an "inspiration" for the members of legal fraternity.
Mukherjee said "Iyer used law as an instrument of social engineering and social change making justice accessible to all including the marginalized and the vulnerable."
The President said the demise of Justice Iyer leaves a "void which is difficult to fill. In his death, the nation has lost a great judicial statesman whose long years in public service will be remebered for years to come.
