In a message to ISRO Chairman A S Kiran Kumar, Mukherjee extended congratulations to him and his team for the successful launch of PSLV-C35 (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle), carrying advanced satellite SCATSAT-1 along with seven other co-passenger satellites from Algeria, Canada, USA and two from India yesterday.
"I understand that SCATSAT-1 will help provide wind vector data products for weather forecasting cyclone detection and tracking services to the users. The nation is proud of this important achievement which is a significant milestone in the progress of our space capabilities," he said.
