President prorogued the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha a day after the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs recommended it to him.
The Winter session, the second phase of which began on February 5, was adjourned sine die on February 21.
This was was the last session of the 15th Lok Sabha as the country goes to Parliamentary elections shortly. This session will go down in the history as the most disrupted one with the pepper spray incident marking a new low in parliamentary conduct.
There was also uproar galore on the demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the coal block allocation scam issue.
