President to visit Vizag for submarine arm's golden jubilee

The President of India Ram Nath Kovind, also the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, will be on a two-day vist to Visakhapatnam on December 7-8 to participate in the golden jubilee celebrations of the Navy's Submarine Arm.
As per the tentative schedule, the President will arrive in the city on December 7 and he would visit Andhra University in the afternoon. He would release a special postal stamp (Armed Forces Flag Day) and first-day cover in the evening commemorating the golden jubilee year of Eastern Naval Command (ENC).
Chief of Eastern Naval Command (ENC) Vice-Admiral Karambir Singh said that if the work of the TU-142 aircraft museum is completed, the President is likely to inaugurate the aircraft museum on December 7.
On December 8, President Kovind would present colours to the Submarine Arm, as per the schedule.
The ENC has also scheduled its operational demonstration on Navy Day on December 4 at RK Beach area in the city, the Vice-Admiral said.
During his visit, the President is also likely to inaugurate the Andhra Universitys convention centre coming up on beach road with an overall seating capcity of 2000 persons.
