Press Council teams in poll-bound states to monitor paid news

Press Council of India has constituted five sub-committees comprising members and senior journalists to monitor paid news in newspapers during the Assembly elections in the four states and one union territory.
In its communication to the chief electoral officers of the poll-bound states, the Commission has sought their cooperation in facilitating the work of the two-member committees including their movement and access to places of election and reporting.
Ravindra Kumar and Bipin Newar have been deputed to Assam, Sondeep Shankar and Rajeev Ranjan Nag to West Bengal, Suman Gupta and Prajananda Chaudhuri to Puducherry, Kosuri Amarnath and C K Nayak to Kerala and K R Vyas and S N Sinha to Tamil Nadu.
