President-elect of UN General Assembly Mogens Lykketoft, during whose presidency the global body is likely to deliberate on Security Council reform, will arrive here tomorrow on a four-day visit.
Lykketoft will call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and meet External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
India has been demanding membership of the UN Security Council and the issue of reform of the global body is likely to figure during Lykketoft's meetings with leaders here.
He will preside over the 193-member UN body's upcoming 70th session succeeding Uganda's Sam Kutesa. He will begin his Presidency in September at the commencement of the 70th General Assembly session.
India, Germany, Brazil and Japan have been pressing for permanent seat in the powerful UN Security Council and supporting each other's bids.
Kutesa achieved a breakthrough of sorts recently by circulating a text to UN members that will form the basis for the negotiations on the reform of the Security Council.
