The Certificate of Honour was conferred on 13 Sanskrit scholars and one under the category of Sanskrit (International), two in Persian, three in Arabic and one in Pali, an official statement said.
It said Maharshi Badrayan Vyas Samman has been conferred on five Sanskrit scholars and one each from Persian, Arabic and Pali.
The distinction is conferred once a year on Independence Day in recognition of substantial contribution in the field of Sanskrit, Persian, Arabic and Pali/Prakrit, it added.
