Prez offers condolences to families of Amarnath cloudburst

President Pranab Mukherjee has expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in flash floods caused by the cloudburst in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district last week.
The President, in a letter to state Governor N N Vohra, has expressed sadness on learning about the loss of lives and injuries caused by the flash floods triggered by the cloudburst on July 24 near Amarnath Yatra Base Camp at Baltal in Sonamarg, an official spokesman said here today.
The President also asked the state government and other agencies to provide all possible aid to the bereaved families, who have lost their near and dear ones as well as medical facilities to the injured, the official said.

According to the official, Mukherjee has wished speedy recovery to the injured persons.
Three people were killed and 11 others injured after the cloudburst struck near the base camp of Amarnath yatra along the shorter 16-km Baltal route to the cave shrine in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district.
