In a message, the President said Guru Ravidasji's noble message of love, truth and religious harmony is relevant for all times to come.
"The life and work of Guru Ravidasji are of direct relevance to our aspirations to build a more just and egalitarian society. The Guru showed people how to cast away parochialism and prejudice. He taught that one is distinguished not by one's caste but by one's actions," he said.
Greeting the nation on the occasion, the Prime Minister said the teachings of Guru Ravidasji are a source of inspiration to work for a just and equitable society.
"Let us dedicate ourselves towards spreading the values of tolerance and universal brotherhood on this occasion," the Prime Minister added.
