"The Council of Ministers thinks a situation has been created in the state for President's rule. The BJP should be held responsible for such a state of affairs in Arunachal Pradesh which is a very sensitive and strategic border state.
"It flouted all Parliamentary democracy norms to topple the state government and create conditions for its entry," CPI national secretary D Raja said.
"President being one of the senior statesmen of the country, he must question the recommendation of Council of Ministers. What is the justification in recommending the central rule?" the Rajya Sabha MP asked.
The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had yesterday recommended imposition of President's Rule in the north-eastern state.
Arunachal Pradesh was rocked by a political crisis on December 16 last year as 21 rebel Congress MLAs joined hands with 11 of BJP and two independents to 'impeach' Assembly Speaker Nabam Rebia at a makeshift venue, in a move branded as "illegal and unconstitutional" by the Speaker.
