Prez wishes Iran on eve of its 36th anniversary

President Pranab Mukherjee today said India looks forward to have a full-fledged and enhanced engagement with Iran on various issues as he greeted the country on the eve of its 36th anniversary tomorrow.
In his message to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani, Mukherjee said, "On behalf of the government and the people of India and on my own behalf, it gives me great pleasure to extend to your Excellency and to the friendly people of Iran warm greetings and felicitations on the occasion of the 36th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran."
"Our bilateral relations are strengthened by the age-old historical and civilisational bonds between our people. Over the past several decades, they have flourished and evolved into a multi-faceted engagement in various spheres. We value this relationship greatly and look forward to engaging with Iran on the full range of jointly identified priorities to our mutual benefit.
"We firmly believe that a strengthened relationship between India and Iran will contribute to regional peace, stability and prosperity," he said.
He extended India's good wishes for the progress and prosperity of the people of Iran.
