Traders said some demand from retailers mainly led to rise in select prices.
They said, however, adequate stocks on higher supplies from producing regions mainly kept other prices lower.
In the national capital, arhar moved up by Rs 400 to Rs 10,600 per quintal despite the government's measures to curb surging prices. Its dal dara variety, however, held steady at Rs 12,000-15,000 per quintal.
Gram, gramdal local and best quality were also quoted higher by Rs 200 each to Rs 5,200-5,800, Rs 5,550-5,750 and Rs 5,650-5,950 per quintal respectively.
