Prices of groundnut oil surge on heavy demand

Groundnut oil surged at the oils and oilseeds wholesale market here today due to heavy demand from stockists and retailers amid restricted arrivals from producing regions.
Refined palmolein also hardened on sustained retail buying.
Castor seeds bold and castor oil commercial also strengthened following good demand from shippers and soap industries.
Linseed oil ruled stable in the absence of any large scale buying activity.
In the edible segment, groundnut oil spurted by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 960 from yesterday's level of Rs 950 and refined palmolein rose by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 555 from Rs 550.

Moving to non-edible section, castor seed bold climbed by Rs 25 per 100 kg to Rs 3,075 from overnight close of Rs 3,050 and castor oil commercial advanced by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 645 from Rs 640 yesterday.
Linseed oil closed unchanged at Rs 860 per 10 kg.
