Prices of most commodities fall in the foodgrains market

Prices of Thoor dal, urad dal, moong dal, gram dal, sugar and maida decreased while that of other commodities ruled steady in the wholesale foodgrains markets here during the week under review.
On Monday, the price of moong dal opened the week at Rs 7,400 from its same rate last week, and went down by Rs 400 per quintal to Rs 7,000 today.
On Thursday, thoor dal declined by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 7,000 from the closing rate of Rs 7,200 last week and further dropped to Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 6,800 today.
Urad dal and gram dal moved down by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 8,800 and Rs 7,700 from its previous rate of Rs 8,900 and Rs 7,800 respectively.
Likewise, sugar decreased by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 4,150 from last week's closing rate of Rs 4,200.
In addition, maida (90 kg) was less by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 2,600 from Rs 2,700.
However, the prices of wheat (Rs 2,600) and Sooji (90 kg) (Rs 3,200) ruled steady throughout the week.
