Prices of select commodities rise in foodgrains market

Prices of thoor dal, gram dal,wheat and sooji (90 kg) increased while that of the rest ruled steady in the wholesale foodgrains market here during the week under review.
On the opening day, gram dal price rose steeply by Rs 1,000 per quintal to Rs 8,000 from Rs 7,000 to finish this week at its opening price Rs 8,000.
Thoor dal opened the week at Rs 7,800, an increase of Rs 300 per quintal from Rs 7,500 to close the week at its opening rates.
Wheat was higher by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 2,700 from Rs 2,650 and ended the week at Rs 2,700.
Sooji (90 kg) was Rs 3,200 an increase of Rs 100 from its closing rate Rs 3,100.
However, prices of urad dal (Rs 9,200), moong dal (Rs.7,500), sugar (Rs.4200) and maida (90 kg) (Rs.2,700) ruled steady throughout the week.
