Firm conditions emerged at the wholesale pulses market today with prices of select pulses led by masoor and urad rising by up to Rs 200 per quintal on heavy stockist-buying amid pick up in demand from dal mills and retailers.
Marketmen said fresh buying by stockists, driven by uptick in demand from dal mills and retailers amid pause in supplies from growing regions pushed up urad, masoor and other pulses prices.
In the national capital, urad and its dal chilka local rose by Rs 100 and Rs 200 to Rs 3,900-5,300 and Rs 4,750-4,850 per quintal, respectively.
Its dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and traded higher by Rs 200 each to Rs 4,850-5,350 and Rs 5,300-5,500 per quintal.
Masoor small and bold also moved up by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,700-4,100 and Rs 3,850-4,150 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded higher by Rs 200 each to Rs 4,400-4,800 and Rs 4,500-4,900 per quintal.
Gram edged higher by Rs 50 to Rs 3,950-4,000, while its dal local and best quality were up by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,200-4,600 and Rs 4,600-4,700 per quintal. Kabuli gram small variety too inched up by Rs 50 to Rs 4,700-5,500 per quintal.
