Prime Minister to visit Rourkela on April 1: Oram

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Odisha's steel city Rourkela on April 1, said Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram.
This would be the first visit of Modi to Rourkela after assuming office of the Prime Minister last year. During his visit, the Prime Minister would inaugurate modernised and expanded units of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP).
Oram, who is also the MP from Sundergarh Lok Saha segment, sent SMS invitation to mediapersons seeking their presence at Rourkela on April 1 (Utkal Divas).
The detailed programme of the Prime Minister is yet to be released by the PMO.
A high level delegation from the Union Steel Ministry including its secretary Rajesh Singh today visited Rourkela and held meeting with the RSP top brass on the scheduled visit of the Prime Minister.
The district administration of Sundergarh have also geared up its preparation for the proposed visit.
"I met Modi recently and discussed with him some projects in Rourkela. Besides, special assistance to the state for Nabakalebara, I discussed with him about making Rourkela airport a full-fledged one, second Brahmani bridge and establishing a medical college in Ispat General Hospital," Rourkela MLA Dilip Ray said.
