"They are part of the future. The education and vocational training that they are receiving will contribute to the economy of the country," he said after visiting the various faculties of 'Nijoloy', a home for girl children of sex workers here.
Prince Andrew said he has been briefed about the problems and concerns of the children. "Some of the issues are not common and in discussing with you, I have become more aware of them," he said.
He donated two books written by Duchess of York to the children, saying, "This is a gift from my family to your family."
A total of 76 girls reside at the home in adjoining North 24 Parganas district, about 25 km from here. PTI AMR PC SCY
