Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have approached 71-year-old Jessica Webb to be the 20-day-old prince's first charge, 'Sunday People' reported.
Webb is regarded by royal aides as a trusted pair of hands who protected the young William and Harry when their parents - Prince Charles and Diana - were going through a traumatic divorce.
The retired nanny is said to be sorely tempted to help the Royal couple, although concerned about having full-time duties again, the report said.
The couple have also been warned by both their families and royal courtiers that they need to set up a formal system of care once the summer is over.
Prince Edward's wife Sophie Wessex, 48, who employs two full-time nannies for her son and daughter, has advised Kate she will become exhausted if she tries to combine royal duties with doing every bath-time, the report said.
