Also emerging victorious were Chandigarh's Sameer Bhalla and Delhi's promising cueist, Parveen.
Parveen had an easy outing against statemate Ayush Gwal to win 3-0 and advance to the next round of the championship.

Meanwhile, in a major upset, Delhi's Neeraj Bansal went down fighting against Jitesh 2-3 while another city boy, Chirag Khurana, lost to Maharashtra's Anand Raghuvanshi 0-3.
Delhi's Kamaldeep Amrit won against Ashish Gore of Maharashtra 3-0 while Jammu and Kashmir's Sumesh Turki beat the local boy, Abhay Sahni by an identical margin.
