Products from Maker Village have potential to capture markets: Telecom Secy

Products from Maker Village, the largest hardware incubator in the country,have got the potential to capture markets, Union Telecom Secretary Aruna Sundararajan said here Saturday.

Sundararajan, who is also Chairman of the Telecom Commission, was speaking after visiting the technology expo of Maker Village arranged at the sidelines of Tiecon Kerala 2018 here.

She said some of the showcased products were highly impressive and could be huge success stories from Maker Village in the days to come.

She assured all support from the Union Government to scale up the products, a Maker Village press release said.

The Telecom Secretary also lauded the commendable progress made by Maker Village, which hosts about 65 start ups anchoring cutting edge technologies, since its inception.

Keeping in mind that no technology is complete until it is of any use to the common man, Maker Village has come up with an array of start-ups which have the perfect blend of state of the art technology that could tackle social needs, at the TiEcon Summit, the release said.

The 14 startups that were lined up in a technology expo have technologies that could deal with rural, environmental, health care, disaster managementand other social needs, it said.
