Profit booking drags down mentha oil futures by 0.39%
Press Trust of India New Delhi Mentha oil prices fell by 0.39 per cent to Rs 900 per kg in first futures market today as participants locked-in gains at prevailing levels amid fall in demand from consuming industries at the spot market.
Besides, adequate stocks availability on higher supplies from growing regions weighed on prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in far-month February fell by Rs 3.50, or 0.39 per cent to Rs 900.00 per kg in business turnover of 27 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in January contracts shed Rs 2.90, or 0.33 per cent to Rs 889.00 per kg in 205 lots.
Analysts said said besides profit-booking by participants at existing levels, fall in demand from consuming industries in the spot market mainly led to the fall in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
