Prohibited weapons recovered from former MLA's house

Delhi Police Special Cell today recovered an AK 47 and a SLR rifle from former independent MLA Rambir Shokeen's property located in Bawana area, which were looted by gangster Neeraj Bawana from Uttarakhand Police.
According to the police, the recovery of weapons was made after the interrogation of Bawana who was arrested on Tuesday. The dreaded gangster is wanted in dozens of cases of murder, attempt to murder and extortion.
"We have recovered two prohibited weapons, including an AK 47 and a SLR rifle from former MLA's house. These arms were looted from Uttarakhand police on December 16 by Bawana who played an active role in the escape of another notorious criminal, Amit Bhura, from the police custody, while he was being produced at Baghpat court," a senior police officer said.
According to a senior police officer, former MLA Rambir Shokeen is the maternal uncle of Neeraj Bawana and is at large since Bawana was arrested.
Shokeen was elected to the Delhi Assembly as an independent MLA in 2013 from Mundka constituency, and he later joined the Congress party.
