The channel 'India TV' has filed a complaint with police on June 26 that its Editor-in-Chief Rajat Sharma was receiving threatening calls and messages and a case was filed against unknown persons under Sections of Information Technology Act two days ago, a senior police official said.
According to the complaint, the channel had telecast a programme on June 22 questioning the claims of a godman and allegations raised against him that he fooled people by holding religious programmes. The godman also participated in the programme to answer allegations against him.
Immediately after the programme was telecast, the channel claimed that Sharma got "abusive and threatening" calls and text messages from people claiming to be godman's followers.
