"It has been incorrectly averred that diagnosis and treatment of septicaemia were not made from February 15 to February 25, 2012... The measures were taken in respect of the patient and there was no negligence in diagnosis and management of patients," the affidavit filed by A K Mehta, the Medical Superintendent of Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital said.
The reply of DDU Hospital has been filed in the matter pertaining to the death of V R Santosh Kumar who died in custody on February 25, 2012 allegedly due to medical negligence.
"... There has never been any lack of coordination of doctors in the present case," the reply said.
The reply, filed through government counsel Zubeda Begum, also refuted the allegation of petitioner Jose Abraham that Kumar died due to malnutrition and said the team of doctors had taken "every measure".
Earlier, written suggestions and information with regard to the condition in the jail were sought by the high court from Delhi government and an NGO, Multi Action Research Group (MARG), while hearing a bunch of PILs relating to ensuring minimum human rights to inmates of Tihar Jail.
