Lok Sabha member and BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri along with scores of supporters, today protested near the residence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, over the "inhuman condition" in which people are living in unauthorised colonies in Delhi.
The South Delhi MP and about 50 other protesters were stopped near Vikas Bhawan and briefly detained as they attempted to march towards the CM residence in Civil Lines area, police said.
Bidhuri alleged residents of various unauthorised colonies and a few villages have been "deprived of development and progress, who have built their houses from blood and sweat and still have been forced to live a life in inhuman condition".
"People want to ask Kejriwal about his election promises in 2014-15, of regularising all unapproved colonies within six months of his party coming into power," Bidhuri said.
Over this issue, Bidhuri also sought Kejriwal's resignation.
Bidhuri and other protesters were later released, police said.
