The sudden decision of Arunachal Pradesh Governor Jyoti Prashad Rajkhowa to advance the Assembly session has sparked off protest by several organisations, which have threatened to hold protest-rallies.
The Governor on Wednesday had summoned the three-day session from December 16 with a directive to take up the impeachment motion notice against Speaker Nabam Rebia as a priority business of the House.
Earlier, the session was summoned from January 14 to 18 next.
Pointing out that actions of the governor amounted to murder of democracy, Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Padi Richo in a statement today said that the rank and file of the party would stage a rally from Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan to Raj Bhawan here and holds dharna on Saturday to register protest.
"A constitutional head is not expected to behave the way the present Governor has been behaving which has also demolished all our hopes that being from our neighbouring state of Assam he would work for co- existence and herald peace among the people of the state along with the Assamese," Richo alleged.
The next move would be "Delhi chalo" by an APCC team soon in protest, he added.

Terming the governor as 'anti-Nyishi' the Nyishi Elite Society (NES) has announced that it will take out a protest- march on December 14.
"The governor has taken the decision in haste. The Governor's anti-Nyishi move is clearly reflected from his action by appointing the deputy speaker to preside over the impeachment motion against the speaker," NES president Bengia Tolum said in a statement here today.
Tolum poinyed out, "The Deputy Speaker, who faces similar impeachment motion, submitted to the Assembly secretariat earlier, should have been taken-up first for consideration".
Meanwhile, the All Nyishi Students' Union (ANSU) on Thursday in a representation to President Pranab Mukherjee demanded immediate transfer of the Governor from the state for his alleged anti-Arunachalee stand.
