His portrayal of hobbit Frodo Baggins in "Lord of the Rings" still reverberates in the minds of viewers and Elijah Wood feels happy that people remember him for his role.
The 34-year-old actor-DJ starred in Peter Jackson's epic fantasy trilogy "Lord of the Rings" as the iconic character, who goes on a quest to destroy the 'One Ring' which ruled them all.
"The tag (of Frodo) would be for the rest of my life. I accepted it a long time ago. It'll always be a part of my life and it is something, thankfully, I am very proud of. It's representative of one of the best experiences I ever had. So no complaints," Woods said in an interview here.
He was in the capital to perform along with his collaborator DJ Zach Cowie, who are together known as Wooden Wisdom.
The actor spent nearly 60 months shooting for "LOTR" in New Zealand, and when the chance came to appear in its prequel trilogy, "The Hobbit- An Unexpected Journey", Wood took it without batting an eyelid.
"There was no reluctance. It was a gift to be back, see everybody again. To go back to New Zealand in that capacity. To meet the new cast, see old friends. It was a chance of having a revisiting experience which I never thought I would have."
Wood made his film debut in a minor part in 1989 classic "Back to the Future 2" and went on to star as a child artist in successful films like "Radio Flyer", "The Good Son" and "Flipper" before getting the biggest role of his career in "LOTR".
The actor, however, does not feel overwhelmed by Frodo's shadow.
"Only if you don't continue to work on anything else, if people don't see you in any other roles, I suppose it can be a hindrance (to be known as a particular character). I always felt as long as I continue to work on films that were different, I wouldn't have a problem.
