PTI union seeks Cong-ruled states support regarding wageboard

The Federation of PTI Employees' Union today sought the intervention of Congress ruled states, including Rajasthan in implementation of the recommendations of Majithia wage board for journalists and non-journalists.
Speaking at the inaugural session of the federation's executive meeting here, General Secretary M S Yadav requested the Rajasthan government for its support on the issue.
Rajasthan Minister of state for Home Virendra Beniwal assured the meeting of full support, saying that he he would ensure that the matter is taken up with the party high command.
"Journalists and non-Journalists are struggling for the last 14 years for revise in wages. The Majithia wage board has given its recommendations which was notified by the Government of India but has not been implemented so far," Yadav said while requesting the minister for the intervention of his government in the matter.
"PTI is a leading credible news agency and news released by it is widely used," he pointed out.
Yadav told the delegates that all possible efforts will be made despite all hurdles to ensure that the matter is expedited at the earliest.

Beniwal assured the Federation delegates that the state government will extend full support in the matter.
"I will do my level best to ensure best possible help in this matter," he said.
"Media is the fourth pillar of the democracy and it needed to be strengthened. PTI has its credibility in providing value-based and authentic news to the society," the minister said.
John Gonsalves, the Federation President, apprised the delegates about the undue delay in the implementation of the recommendations of the wage board despite being notified by the Government of India.
