Public to be taken into confidence by security agencies

Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) J V Ramudu said here today that it has been decided that security agencies of all oil and gas companies in coastal Andhra Pradesh would take the public into confidence.
He was speaking at the 29th Onshore Security Co-ordination Committee Meeting of the Andhra Pradesh region, where senior AP police officers and security departments from all major oil and gas companies such as HPCL, GAIL, ONGC, BPCL, IOCL, Reliance and others expressed opinions on the protection of the oil and gas establishments.
The public could act as external intelligence and share vital information about suspicious elements, he said.
He said that oil and gas establishments should set up a toll free number for the public, as well as hold a number of mock drills in co-ordination with all stake holders, besides relocate some structures.
