850 such villages would benefit under this scheme. A sum of Rs 282 crore would be released during this year for development works, an official release said today.
Estimates are being prepared after identifying streets and grants would be released for all these villages by October 31. These works would be completed before March 31, 2017, it said.
A new scheme has been started to set up IT-enabled Gram Sachivalyas. In the first phase of this scheme, in all 2,294 Gram Sachivalyas would be set up, with each cluster of 3-4 Gram Panchayats, by the year 2019.
Through these centres, various government services would be made available to people at grassroot level. Village-level officers and employees of all departments would be stationed in these Sachivalyas so that the people can get all government-related works done under one roof.
