Chief Minister V Narayanasamy led leaders of various parties in condoling the death of Jayalalithaa and paid glowing tributes to her.
Responding to a plea of AIADMK legislature wing leader A Anbalagan, he said the Puducherry government would install a bronze statue of Jayalalithaa here and a committee would be formed for selecting the site for it.
Earlier, Narayanasamy tabled a resolution to condolethe death of Jayalalithaa and highlighted her concern for the poor and the have-nots.
Her steadfast adherence to her stand to procure justice to the delta farmers in the sharing of Cauvery river water had established a name for her, he said.

Agriculture Minister R Kamalakannan referred to the fearless approach of Jayalalithaa on various issues.
Leader of the Opposition and former chief minister N Rangasamy (AINRC) recalled the "administrative capability of Jayalalithaa and her boldness in taking and implementing decisions on various issues."
Resolutions condoling the deaths of former assembly Speaker V M C Sivakumar, who was murdered on January 3, and Deputy Speaker A V Sreedharan were also moved.

The Chief Minister also tabled a resolution,condoling the death of former Punjab Chief Minister and Governor of Tamilnadu Surjit Singh Barnala, who passed away on January 13.
Barnala had held under additional charge the post of Lt Governor here in 2009 while being Governor of Tamilnadu.
