Chief Minister N Rangasamy announced this after a team of Alliance Air officials held talks with him and Tourism Minister P Rajavelu.
The airline would operate 48-seater ATR type aircraft on Puducherry-Bengaluru sector and the service would available on all days except Wednesdays, he told reporters.
It would leave Bengaluru at 3.45 pm and arrive at the airport here at 4.45 pm. In the return journey, the flight would leave at 5.05 pm and reach Bengaluru at 6.05 pm.
A technical team would be on a visit to the airport here in the next few days to work out all modalities including, the tariff structures, an official source told PTI.
The airport in this former French colony, which attracts a large number of tourists, was developed with huge investment and Spicejet had operated services to Bengaluru for nearly a year from 2013, but this was discontinued.
Now the airport is being reactivated with the introduction of the Alliance Air flight.
