Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy led the Union Territory in paying rich tributes homage to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on the occasion of his 28th death anniversary today.
All Ministers, legislators, and delegates of different wings of the ruling Congress were among those who paid homage to the late leader, who was assassinated this day in 1991 by a suicide bomber in neighbouring Tamil Nadu.
On the occasion, Narayanasamy recalled the exceptional contributions Rajiv Gandhi had made to establish peaceful relations with neighbouring countries, to promote science and technology and to nurture unity.
A pledge to curb terrorism was also taken by all those present at the venue.
