Traders said besides pick up in demand from retailers, restricted supplies from producing belts mainly kept select pulses higher.
They said, however, a slew of measures announced by the government to check rising prices and improved supplies, capped the rise.
Meanwhile, the government has issued a tender to import 5,000 tonnes of pigeon peas (tur) to boost domestic supply from next month.
In the national capital, moong and its dal chilka local rose by Rs 100 each to Rs 7,100-7,700 and Rs 7,700-8,100 per quintal, respectively. Its dal dhoya local and best quality followed suit and traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 8,050-8,550 and Rs 8,550-8,750 per quintal, respectively.
