After a goalless draw against Costa Rican outfit Deportivo Saprissa in an encounter of the 117th IFA Shield today, I-League side Pune FC are facing an early exit from Group B.
In a crucial tie at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan here, Pune FC failed to find the net as their striker Subash Singh's goal in the 85th minute was ruled out by referee Santosh Kumar for being off side.
Pune FC coach Derrick Pereira used all his resources but a win remained elusive.
An opening-round loss to Mohun Bagan (0-3) had left Pune FC in a situation where winning was the only option.
Pune FC's fate will now depend on their next outing against United Sikkim this weekend.
Both the teams managed to create opportunities but in the end had to share points as their forwards muffed the chances.
