Puneri Paltan, the Pune franchise of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi League, has kicked off its training camp for the tournament which starts later this month at the Balewadi Stadium here.
Aimed at fostering team spirit, the camp would provide an opportunity for the new and existing players to get trained under the newly appointed coach Ashok Shinde, an Arjuna awardee.
Expressing happiness on coaching the team, Shinde today said, "This is a proud moment for me to be part of the Pro Kabaddi League and mentor these young and enthusiastic players of Puneri Paltan. We will give our best to raise the performance bar in the forthcoming season."
Team captain Wazir Singh said the players would gain from Shinde's inputs.
"We are excited to play in the second chapter of Pro Kabaddi League. We look forward to learning a lot from Ashok Shinde and incorporate those into our lessons from the last game. We are training hard and will fight each game with full force," Singh added.
