Badal urged the Centre to announce the new MSP after taking up the matter with the Election Commission so that interests of crores of families depended on agriculture could be safeguarded.
Centre had raised the minimum support price (MSP) of wheat by Rs 50 to Rs 1,400 per quintal in October for 2013-14 crop.
Calling the neglect of farmers grave injustice, the SAD patron, in a statement issued here, said the Centre had not made any announcement regarding the MSP of wheat, and its leaders were least bothered about it.
Flaying the Centre, he said while the cost of agricultural inputs was rising, it was least bothered towards providing a remunerative MSP to farmers.
Badal alleged that due to the wrong policies of the Union government, agriculture was no longer a profitable venture due to which farmers were facing serious crisis.
