Three Punjab Congress leaders, including a legislator, have been served show cause notice by the party for allegedly indulging in anti-party activities.
The Disciplinary Action Committee of the party issued notice and sought response from Muktsar MLA Karan Kaur Brar, Jalandhar (Rural) district president Jagbir Singh Brar and party general secretary Satnam Singh Kainth.
They have been given 15 days time to explain their conduct, according to a release issued by Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC).
The PPCC disciplinary action committee chairman Gopal Krishan Chatrath, in the notice issued to Karan Kaur Brar referred to a statement in press on June 17 in which she reportedly said that in the event of Capt Amarinder Singh launching a separate party, she would jump into it.
The notice sent to Jagbir Brar specifically referred to his "non-cooperation" in the mass contact programme launched by the state party chief Partap Singh Bajwa as part of the national level campaign.
Chatrath said Bajwa personally called him to join him at Adampur in Jalandhar district and his "absence" from the party programme amounted to brazen violation of party discipline leading to demoralisation of party cadre.

The notice to Kainth has been issued on the same charges which relate to his absence from the Adampur programme organised on June 12 for which he was informed in advance.
Bajwa too called him personally but he preferred to ignore, he said.
"You have deliberately acted in a calculated way to lower the prestige of the Congress," Chatrath said in the notice.
