Congress Vice Presidents Sunil Jakhar and Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa today Dhandrianwale.
"One must not forget that Sant Dhandrianwale was a fierce voice against the government over sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib incident at Bargari. By attacking Sant Dhandrianwale, the attackers were attempting to muzzle a voice which was speaking against the state government," the Congress leaders said.
Alleging that the government has direct or indirect role in the attack, they said, Dy CM Sukhbir Badal must name the perpetrators of attack and how a group of 40 people have free run in busy district like Ludhiana."
Jakhar, Congress Chief Spokesperson, alleged that everyone in the state is feeling unsafe, either its religious preacher or a common man, as the police are busy providing security to either Sangat Darshan programmes of Badal family or giving gunmen to gangsters.
The incident of Bargari sacrilege, murder of Mata Chand Kaur, and other important cases, in which Special Investigation teams have been formed, remained unsolved, he said.
"There is an attempt to create an atmosphere of fear in Punjab and Congress wants a special session of Vidhan Sabha to discuss law and order situation in the state," he said.
"The DGP admits that Punjab has 57 gangsters and they have nearly 500 associates. This is what Sukhbir Badal has given to the state in the last 10 years," said Jakhar.
