Both the villages are notorious for drug-peddling.
In the course of his interaction with villagers, the DGP urged them to help the police to tackle the menace.
"The state police have adopted the path of zero tolerance to drugs and people's cooperation is a must in such drives," he said.
Talking to mediapersons, the DGP said, the police were taking special measures to arrest the increasing trend of gang wars in the state.
Referring to criminals running networks from jails, he said that very soon, a mechanism would be put in place to ensure that nobody was able to carry out criminal activities from behind the bars.
The DGP urged the people to bring to the notice of police any illegal activity being undertaken by anti-social elements by dialling 181.
