District and Sessions Judge Amarjot adjourned the case as an appeal by the accused against the charge sheet is likely to come up for hearing in the Punjab and Haryana High court tomorrow.
Sharma, along with the other accused former Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) S P S Basra, the then Station House Officer (SHO) Balkar Singh and former Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Gurcharan Singh was present in the court today.
The court had framed charges against all the four accused under sections 364 (kidnapping), 302 (murder), 201 (destroying evidence), 120 B (criminal conspiracy) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on June 3.
