Punjab government notifies Irrigation Advisory Committee

Punjab government today said it has notified the reconstituted Irrigation Advisory Committee which will advise in framing and executing policies of irrigation department for the year 2015-16.
Irrigation Minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon will be the Chairman of the Committee, an official spokesperson said.
The committee would have four official members including the Chief Parliamentary Secretary of Irrigation, the Chief Secretary of Punjab, Secretary, Irrigation and the Head of Irrigation department, the spokesperson said.
The committee will also have 10 non-official members, including Joginder Singh Jindu, Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu, Gurtej Singh Ghuriana, Harpreet Kaur Mukhmailpur and Gobind Singh Longowal from Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), Charanjit Singh Channi, Jagmohan Singh Kang and Balbir Singh Sidhu from Congress and Sukhjeet Kaur Shahi from BJP and one independent Rajneesh Kumar.
