Punjab govt approves release of Rs 55 cr for health core-plan

A decision to this effect was taken by Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal during a meeting here with the top brass of the state, an official spokesman said.

The health core-plan worth Rs 350 crore aims at improving the healthcare services in Punjab.

The CM was told in the meeting that Rs 162.93 crore which were released by the state government had already been exhausted over the construction of 30 Community Health Centres, 2 District Hospitals, 7 Sub-Divisional Hospitals, 36 Primary Health Centres.

The state officials said that there was an immediate need of more funds for the timely completion of these projects.

Following which, the CM approved the release of Rs 55 crore for the ongoing projects.

During the meeting, Badal also cleared the construction of a new Community Health Centre at Kamahi Devi.
